Birds of Gaza - Lino Print Workshop
Led by artist Zafeerah Heesambee, the Birds of Gaza Lino Printing Workshop honours the Palestinian sunbird - a symbol of hope and freedom - through art. Together, we’ll craft lino prints in memory of every child lost in Gaza towards a collective piece.
Open to all levels.
The workshop is part of That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore, a three-day exhibition and series of events exploring the themes of progress and development in a collapsing world. By Bosla Arts' artist-in-residence, Rand Hamdallah, created in partnership with online artist-in-residence, Shahd Itbakhi.
Through zines, live performances, workshops, and shared food, the exhibition asks: Are They Lying to Us? Of course they are.
Generously supported by The Reva and David Logan Foundation.
Open Mic Night - in solidarity with Palestine
Within the exhibition That Joke Isn’t Funny Anymore, let’s gather and join our voices. This open mic night invites you to reinterpret words, sounds, and thoughts as an elegy for global numbness, in an age of permanent crisis.
Bring a song to recite, a poem, a piece of spoken word, a song lyric, or anything you feel like sharing, or simply come to listen.

Already Resilient: That’s enough reading - Workshop & Community Canvas
Artist Rand Hamdallah will lead a group workshop inspired by her thesis Traces of Urban Resilience: Exploring Everyday Practices of Reconstruction in the Occupied West Bank through Actor–Network Theory. The workshop will examine ways to extract and articulate tacit knowledge using qualitative research methods.
The session invites collective brainstorming on new alternative modes of communication, publishing, information sharing tools and artistic resistance.
Alongside the workshop, Layla Assam will hold a Community Canvas: an open participatory wall where visitors can draw, write, or imagine together what collective liberation might look like.

Via short stories, poetry, spoken word and more, you’ll be exploring the innate value of your stories and thoughts. We’ll dive into metaphors, opening lines, tone, repetition, rhyme and all the tools you may need to get comfortable on paper. However that may look for you.
We encourage everyone to join, participate and give it a try. There is no expectation to finish nor share with the group. Come find a space where you are supported and encouraged, we’d love to have you there.

Open Mic Night: In Solidarity with Palestine
Join Bosla Arts and Studio 12 for an open mic night in solidarity with Palestine.
In a time of utter despair, let’s come together and raise our voice for Palestinians. We want to hear a song, poem, spoken word, stand-up comedy, or anything else you feel like sharing. And if you wish to listen that’s fine too. Open to all.
Transnational Solidarities: Zine-Making Workshop
Join us for a zine-making workshop inspired by the work of Ghassan Kanafani and Assata Shakur to explore how systems of oppression are mirrored from the UK and USA to Palestine and how, through transnational solidarity, we can stand up to oppression collectively. Led by Zafeerah Heesambee.
In the workshop, participants will cut, collage, draw, and write to create their very own zines. Together, we will experiment with art as a tool of resistance and storytelling, creating zines that weave together the personal and political.

I'm Still (Not) Fine: Intermediate Creative Writing Workshop with Fedzilla
Writing as self-care and creative resistance PT. 2
Back by popular demand, rapper and poet Fedzilla returns with the second installment of her powerful writing workshop.
Building on Part 1, this intermediate session expands on what was previously learned and explored, diving deeper into new themes, with a whole new set of prompts. But at its core, the message remains the same: everyone deserves the space to write - and for their stories to be heard.
Together, you’ll explore how to transform feelings of despair, anxiety, and hope into meaningful expression. This workshop looks at new challenges, and dives into more in-depth pieces and stories.
If there’s a prompt or exercise from Part 1 you’d like to revisit or explore in more depth, just let us know, these sessions are designed with you in mind.
**Please note: This is an follow-up workshop/extension workshop for participants who have already completed the Part 1 workshop with Fedzilla. Even if you have experience in writing, we ask that you start with the beginner workshop.

Words, Bodies, Resistance: A Creative Encounter with Nalini Malani
This workshop invites you to slow down, explore language, and respond creatively to Nalini Malani’s powerful installation at the Tate Modern
Through playful word work, embodied observation, and mixed-media making, we’ll reflect on how our presence - individually and together - can become a form of resistance in uncertain times.
Led by Veronica Revuelta (The Activist Curator).
The workshop will focus on Malani's installation “In Search of Vanished Blood”, currently on display at Tate Modern. The immersive installation is made up of rotating cylinders, shadow play, layered projections, and sound. Her work draws from myth, memory, and political history - especially stories of violence, displacement, and women’s resistance.
All materials provided. Registration essential!
